Our Stories
This page is devoted to the life and stories of people living as Kinship Carers.
Credit for these accounts goes to Kim Hall, lecturer for Childcare & Early Years studies at Northumbria University.
Her book, Stories of Living in Kinship Care Families, researched and shed light on the accounts of Kinship families across the North East and helped raise awareness of their daily experiences.
You can read some of the stories below and how the carers have conveyed their experiences through prose, poetry and paintings.

Your donation helps us provide Kinship carers with a listening ear, a hand to hold and spaces to recharge.
Your contributions help us get closer to a society in which kinship carers and the children they care for are recognised, valued and supported.
